Barry A. Ripps, M.D., FACOG, ACGE, brings over a decade of clinical experience in human reproduction to the Gulf Coast. Ripps graduated cum laude from Vanderbilt University and completed medical school at the University of Alabama in Birmingham. For Residency and Fellowship, he attended the University of Tennessee-Memphis. Dr Ripps returned to the Gulf Coast in 1994, offering couples access to the only fellowship-trained and Board-certified fertility specialist practicing Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART). Brijinder S. Minhas, Ph.D., HCLD, MBA, brings to New LIFE sixteen years of combined clinical and laboratory expertise. Board Certified in Embryology and Andrology by the American Board of Bioanalysis, he has published and lectured extensively on the many facets of mammalian reproduction with a primary focus on the diagnosis and treatment of male causes of infertility. A pioneer in the field of male infertility, he has performed thousands of micromanipulation procedures to include PZD, SUZI, ICSI, Assisted Hatching, and Embryo Biopsy for preimplantation genetic diagnosis.
Prior to joining New LIFE, Dr. Minhas served as Regional Scientific Director and Regional Vice President of Operations for the largest multi-site, national provider of physician practice management services in reproductive medicine and infertility. He has served on National Institutes of Health (NIH) study sections and is a member of a broad list of professional societies, including ASRM, ABB, College of Reproductive Biology, and International Embryo Transfer Society. As these impressive qualifications are being sought nationally and internationally, Dr. Minhas provides consultations to other fertility practices with a diverse menu of Global Infertility Solutions .
Sharon Seidel, MD. Dr. Seidel is proudly welcomed to the NewLIFE Team and as the Gulf Coast's ONLY female fertility specialist! A native of Louisiana, she received a medical degree from LSU in New Orleans, and excelled in her completion of general Ob/Gyn residency training with Florida State University College of Medicine. Under the tutelage of our staff, she received additional training and experience in the subspecialty of female infertility and specializes in the correction of the ovulation disorders of women. Patients will enjoy her easy going manner and friendly open personality.
Douglas S. Moore, TS, ELD was recruited to join the NewLIFE team in August of 2008, bringing twenty years of ART experience to enrich the our state-of-the-art service. He is proficient in all aspects of Human Embryology and Andrology. For six and a half years Douglas served as the Embryology Supervisor for Stanford University in California. His expertise has been solicited as a consultant for many ART programs in the country where his reputation for solid understanding of both practical and theoretical laboratory science is demonstrated. Recognizing that many, if not most, of the advances in fertility success have arisen in the ART laboratory, Douglas is a welcome addition fulfilling more expectations for our patients. Anna Sosa, BSc, joined New LIFE in the spring of 2007 as the full-time Supervisor of the Embryology, Andrology and Endocrinology Laboratories. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from the Central University of Venezuela in 1990.
After graduation, Anna completed an internship at Caracas Military Hospital and J.M. de Los Rios Children's Hospital in Bacteriology and Emergency Laboratory Medicine. Anna served as an Embryologist in one of Venezuela's largest IVF programs from 1991 to 2005. In 1994, she was promoted to the position of Supervisor of the full staff of Embryologists and Andrologists at Educational Medical Center La Trinidad, in Caracas. She participated on the team that achieved the first successful ICSI and TESA baby in Venezuela. She furthered her training and expertise with an eleven month fellowship in Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis in Chicago, Illinois prior to joining New LIFE. Anna is well versed in all aspects of Embryology, Andrology and Hormone Analysis, and she brings a wealth of experience and new dimensions to the New LIFE team.
Abigail G. Thorn, ARNP, CNM, MSN, BSBA., joined NewLIFE in the summer of 2007 as the Clinical Director of our newest office located in Tallahassee. Abby graduated summa cum laude from University of San Diego and San Diego State University with her Masters of Science degree in Nursing as well as Certification as a Women's Health Practitioner and Nurse Midwife.
Abby has over 15 years of experience in Women's Health. She spent 10 of those years as a nurse and nurse midwife in the United States Navy. Her addition brings to NewLIFE this admirable level of expertise and a dramatically expanded access for patients in the North Florida region. Terri Bishop MS, CNM, ARNP, brings twelve years of women's health experience to NewLIFE. She graduated with honors, magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Russell Sage College in Troy, New York in 1995. After six years of experience as a charge nurse in labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn nursery, Terri returned to graduate school, receiving a Masters of Science degree in Midwifery in 2002 from the State University of New York.
As a native of Panama City Florida, she returned home with a dedication to her career, the area, and the people in the community, joining NewLIFE in April of 2005. This commitment is apparent to all who visit with her and her presence on the NewLIFE team has raised the bar for exceptional fertility care in the Panama City area.
